Dedicated to helping Louisville children enjoy “America’s Pastime”, Guardian Baseball was created for baseball lovers by baseball lovers. We strive to bring the community together through good sportsmanship and nurture leadership skills and teamwork, while players enjoy more time outdoors and improve their fitness and health.
Who Is Guardian Sports?
Founded in 2017, Guardian Sports is the brainchild of Zev Bernard and Matt Kubancik. Both men grew up immersed in the sport – they played from the age of just five years old, waited in line to get autographs at the stadium, and thought there was nothing better in the world than breaking in a new baseball glove or pair of cleats.
Zev Bernard
A former college baseball player originally from Los Angeles, Zev is passionate about the sport, but even more so about getting today’s youth involved at an early age. In addition to his role with Guardian Sports, Zev operates an indoor training facility in the heart of Louisville and is involved with 15 different youth travel baseball teams.
Matt Kubancik
Matt loved and played baseball from an early age, and enrolled his kids in one of Zev’s teams. When the two met, they immediately connected and became friends. What would eventually become Guardian Baseball grew from that mutual love of the sport and deep friendship.
